Hi! I’m Rebe,

A breast cancer survivor who is passionate about sharing my journey to help educate others on the importance of yearly examinations, and help provide a starting point in conversations with family and the medical team in the event of diagnosis. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in February of 2022, and today I am cancer free, praise God Most High! I was diagnosed with breast cancer in February of 2022, and today I am cancer free, praise God Most High! With the devastating diagnosis came so many questions that initially took up too much space in my mind the first few days, and I did not know where to start with them or even what to ask due to being in total shock. Then, came the overwhelming fear because I did not know how the diagnosis would affect my immediate family, my daughters who were both just over 20 years old at the time. I had so many questions, but I prayed and trusted God to lead the way. I asked Him to show me what to do, when to do it and whom to talk to. He led me through the research and confirmed who I needed to reach out to for prayer through the journey and what questions to ask my medical team. I went to every appointment, asking my medical team the questions I had formed due to my research. Then, I became very strategic in informing my family. First, I spoke with my daughters/prayer partners, I sat down with them first to explain everything, make sure they were okay, and to allow them to see that I was okay. Then, I informed the rest of my family and made sure they knew I was in a good state of mind. After that, I began more research, started my own personal journal to share with my daughters so they would have all the necessary information, then I began my medical plan with my Breast Cancer Surgeon, Dr. Rogsbert F. Phillips, MD and my Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Albert Losken, MD both through Emory Healthcare because that was the network I had worked for and trusted. With God and these two doctors, I know for sure today that I had the dream team!

I have created The Breast cancer Journal for those who have recently been diagnosed and need a starting point like I did on what to research and what questions to ask, and also for those already in their breast cancer journey. I hope it helps you in your journey and encourages your heart along the way.
